I've worked with a number of tour operators who promote travel to Ireland so I know a good deal when I see one. If you're traveling with friends or family, the best deal around that I have seen in a very long time to Ireland is the Adare Villas Vacation from GreatValueVacations.com.
The price varies depending upon the time of year you go. Today the price was $818 per person based on four people traveling which includes round-trip airfare from the East Coast, manual shift car rental, and 6 nights in a three-bedroom, four-bath villa at the Adare Villas which are on the stunning grounds of the Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort. I've seen it as high as $1,299 per person and that's not bad either.
The drawback right now, but it's a little one, is that Adare Manor is closed this year for renovations, so you don't get to go inside the stunning manor house for dinner, afternoon tea, or to look around. But what you DO get from these villas on the spacious grounds of the five-star resort is a great place to stay with a lot of space including a kitchen, living room, dining room, outdoor patio, small den or fourth bedroom, washer and dryer, and more. You have to make your own beds as there is no daily maid service, but who really cares? The villas are pretty high end and the town of Adare is delightful. It's also a good home base to explore the west coast of Ireland as you can make day trips up and down the coast.
I've personally experienced the Adare Villas and give them high marks. You can even spend a day just trekking around the grounds, indulging in a spa treatment (additional), playing golf (additional), and sightseeing in and around the lovely town of Adare with its thatched roof houses and buildings. There are great pubs in Adare to sample a Guinness, have some delightful cuisine, and more.
And if you are traveling with the kids, the parents or grandparents, or a group of friends, it's a great choice in accommodations as you all get your own bed and bath, and can then converge in the living areas of your villa for meals, drinks, and socializing.
GreatVallueVacations.com packages the Adare Villas Vacation trip with airfare and a rental car. You have to buy the trip the way it is -- you can't change the accommodations, you can upgrade the car if you want to an automatic, and you can probably add on a few nights. But all in all, if you want to visit Ireland, you really can't go wrong with this trip.
